Niger-Reinforcement of security for effective development of the country
Niger is relatively stable country within the mass of extremely volatile strong neighbouring countries. In Libya after the fall of Kaddafi regime the situation is extremely tension and for Niger is even more complicated with different migrants, and changed relations between countries, which means brand new economic complication for Niger. Extremely explosive situation economically newly affected Niger from the site of Nigeria since the last year. The newest complication came not awaited from Mali and the situation from there may negatively affect the whole region.
This summarization of negative facts affects the possibility of improvement of Niger after extremely successful elections held in February and March of the last year is diplomatically dismal. Particularly in this moment, when traditionally, after that much visible will to change political climate normally comes kind of improvement with international support and, why not to confirm in case on natural resources of Niger, even international investments. Instead Niger has to be more offensive towards neighbouring countries, has to fight climatic adversity on the top level of food crisis, and international investors postponing new projects due to territorial insecurity.
And even in this difficult situation Nigeriens are calm. Traditionally calm. Nigeriens, who were able to arrange bloodless coup d’état over the night, they were able to arrange peaceful election in atmosphere of revolutions in nearly all neighbouring countries; and now they are able to keep quiet when most of neighbouring countries are going through conflict and using the country for support of theirs refugee issues.
This is an example of extraordinary constructive national ability. It is a question if even much more comfortable countries are able to follow Niger´s example in similar conditions. The core point of the problem is the security of the country. To come to the stage of international and national consensus to change temporary, but unfair position of the country having the attribute of hostile country towards international community, means to motivate all habitants to participate in process of securing of the country.
When activities of various antisocial groups would be suspended, Niger has the potential to cooperate with international experts and investors who, feeling there safely, will actively promote realization of projects enabling Nigeriens to leave the last place of poorest countries in the world.

I have always wanted to work an organization which has a mandate to help people need, especially those who are the most vulnerable - those that are hungry and extremely poor. I also believe that sustainable development should be promoted in such countries rather then distribution of food aids. We should learn people how to be self sustainable even in areas where conditions are very harsh. In 2007 I have joined the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN. Although Im not specialised in agriculture but I do administration therefore I am indirectly involved in the work our staff does in the field to fight against hunger and poverty.

I´ve always been committed to volunteering, in my country (Mexico), online (through Online Volunteering, Hacesfalta and Sparked) and right now I´m working for Kabissa, a nbetwork where volunteers work to create a space for change in Africa. We all work to connect African ONG´s on a platform to work and learn together. I´m happy to be able to do something for Africa from home.
I have lived and grown around families who barely ate sufficiently. Sometimes they even went without food. This made me very uncomfortable in my early childhood and has haunted me up to this age. I always felt bad seeing people fight and even harm one another. This made me beieve in the phrase " A hungry man is an angry man" I have always thought of doing something to remedy the situation;i started by using my voice in 2006 by singing to prisoners and offering them some food items; and supporting some philanthropists do a documentary on support to the needy in Buea, Cameroon. However, i will be visiting a prison again in Douala, Cameroon this June 2012. During my University studies I attended many seminars on moral rearmament and leadership which enforced me with skills in this direction. When I was elected President of the University of Buea Choir, I fought harder to make sure that each time people had to eat, food was ready and sufficient for all. This is because I discovered that my choiristers sang bettter when they had eaten to their fill than when hungry. I always ask myself one question: how can I make the world a better place? By this I sometimes wept after taking sometime to visit homes around my community and seeing the conditions they live under. "My wish therefore became evident-I WILL BE A PHILANTHROPIST TOO SOMEDAY AND HELP THE WORLD BE A BETTER PLACE". I want to live in a world where I can play a significant role to have a positive impact on someone's life, this is my dream.
Hi Rio! I'm a VSO volunteer in Nairobi, Kenya! I work with Special Education Professionals (SEP), a small organisation trying to change the lives of children with disabilities in low income communities like Nairobi's slums. We train special needs professionals, support parents and caregivers, and offer help at projects in several slum areas. I'm proud to be a volunteer!

In my village Ufuma in Anambra State Nigeria, I & and my mother support the widows with food aid. Though we would like to do more than we are doing right now by raising awareness of the plight of widows especially the uneducated widows in our society. Sophia Nwokolo

Malawi, my country, is one of the poorest countries in the world. Almost 80 percent of the population live in the rural areas and live on less than one dollar per day. A lot of people rely on begging along the streets. However, most of these people look physically fit. When I try to ask them why they don't look for alternatives rather than begging?, for the youngsters,I ask them why they don't go to school? The common answers I get are that they lack basic needs to go to school and that they are ready to go if helped. I told the elders not to rely on begging but look for piece work to do so that they can get something out of that and help themselves. As of now, I see a change little by little as beggars could ask if you have a piece work they can do for you so that you give them something. This indicates that if you can find something for them to do, say, give them capital to set up small business, they can stop begging, feed themselves and send their children to school, thereby ending poverty and hunger.
