Online volunteering

Written by  tzephyr

I have volunteered at the online UN volunteering programme.

I am currently helping out with administration and moderation of the facebook pages for Center for African Affairs & Global Peace (CAAGLOP), African Peace Day and African Aids Day. My duty is to upload current happenings in the African continent with regards to these pages and to comment on existing posts. The gravity of this actions have been much more greater than I imagined.

My friends who have been following these pages are brought up to date about the African continent, have a better understanding of the issues at hand and have been sharing it to their friends. These actions are to ensure that Africa does not feel needy and ostracised as "disease-ridden" or as a "war zone" or a third world country but to show that it is included in the world, people understand the events there and are willing to help rather than to just sympathise.
