Helping the community recover after the Jogja’s earthquake

I had a voluntary experience that related with disaster recovery in May 2006 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia when the earthquake killed many people and the most significant victim were the children that lost their parents and drop out of school. My photography friends and I worked together intensively with Bina Nusantara University Foundation to serve a nationwide community development volunteer in Bantul, Yogyakarta for 6 months. We became teachers for students aged 6 to 12 years in emergency tents and donated to rebuild the school. Our aim was eradicating children trauma post Jogja’s earthquake.
