In Babessi, in the North West Region of Cameroon, community development has become the focus of the council’s activities because of VSO Cameroon’s Council Capacity Building process. The council now uses a sectoral approach in drawing up its annual budget, with mandatory budget segments allocated for women empowerment, child protection, education and health.
