As a fifth grade teacher in Guadalajara Mexico, my students and I volunteer at a local school for blind children. Prior to visiting, we raise funds for needed supplies and learn more about living with blindness and partial sight. When visiting the school, we study Braille and play with the kids, sharing meals and games. The real aim of this project is to minimize social exclusion and recognize that kids are kids with all different abilities or disabilities.

life on earth needs to be changed and without the support and unity of all concerned parties, this cannot happen. we have seen many examples of where unity has brought about change and development especially after disasters where volunteers have gathered together and built up nations... if we who have no power or authority except the will do it can do it, why cant you people who have the power and authority also do it??

I have volunteered at my children´s schools every year for the last ten to bring a bit of Jewish cultural heritage into the German classroom. Best experience ever is when the catholic kids says, "we love matzah, I´m going to ask my Mom to buy this for us for snacks." A bit of knowledge and fun goes a long way for social inclusion and world understanding!
