From the first time I started volunteering my life changed as an individual and as a young person. I have grown as a whole psychologically, spiritually and also intellectually. just seeing a child happy and smiling their smile alone changes you, in some situations a child calling sister, mum you feel loved and appreciated, up to today I still remember the child Sandra, her smile, her laughter would change me even if that day I was down she always made my day, her embrace was so sincere looking at her she had not eaten for three days or even a a week what I liked about sandra was she was ever smiling when I left after volunteering I still remember sandra upto today she will always be in my heart what sandra taught me was beauty of a smile and whenever I have not had a good day I remember that I am lucky that I have shelter, food and clothing and always remember to share with those around us.

I have a heart for people especially the poor and disabled. I usually volunteer clothes to the poor children in the community who I know poverty makes them to lack basic needs. I have visited some homes in Kenya such as shangilia children's home and compassion international Kenya child development projects. I have also participated in a medical camp as a volunteer in Gatina, a slum in Kenya and we were able to reach many poor people in need of medical care. I would love to volunteer even more to ensure poverty reduction in the community.

My last assignment was Malawi Africa, being the HIV / AIDS coordinator, one of the issue we really fought hard was the eradication of local harmful practices that helped escalates the pandemic, like the girl initiation and cleansing for widow/widower which both are sexual in nature. We ensure that all traditional leaders both from the grassroots up to the district level are involved in the formulation of the District HIV/AIDS Policy, thus implementation is easy and supported by them as the authors. One of the success we had was coming to the open by local leaders of their sero status and campaigning for the prevention of the pandemic. Aside from the advocacy campaign, we do impact mitigation interventions by providing opportunity to the affected and inffected through microcredit program, skills enhancement program and education support for the school going children. We believe that by involving them (leaders), giving skills and seed capital (affected and infected), providing education to school going kids would make a difference...a sustainable change in their lives...

I have always supported and promoted basic education for unprivileged children through morale and monetary support. I have always tried to encourage people from unprivileged section of the society to start their own work even if its very small, only then they can rise up to a standard level. I have supported and will continue to support unprivileged people for basic education and self employment.

I worked as Communications Adviser on Participation and Governance at the Office of the Commissioners to the Supreme Court, New Delhi, India for one year and eight months (November 2009-July 2011). The office monitors and advocates for the implementation of food schemes embodied by interim orders issued by the Supreme Court. I worked on the advocacy side. To volunteer is to face a personal and professional battles. Difficulties counts from being away from family and friends to being deprived from the way of life you used to,and from adjusting to an entirely new environment to coping with the demands of work as volunteer. With my determination to contribute to worlds' cause of ending hunger at least at the side side of the world where my placement is, I was able to accomplish important works for my office. These accomplishments include: developed the office's website content; reviewed and edited states' reports on the status of food schemes implementation; revised to user friendly documents Commissioners' Booklet and some other documents and; developed advocacy paper for the parliament. I believe, these works made significant impact to progressively realize the right to food of millions of the vulnerable, marginalized, and disadvantaged population of Indian society.
