Having had the opportunity to get an education, I have watched many of my childhood friends drop out along the way for one reason or another (lack of funds, teenage pregnancy, disillusion in the school system, etc.). I then took it upon myself to share this burden with a few friends and colleagues, to start an advocacy and volunteerism organization (Gold Empire Foundation) aimed at 'building capacity especially of youths between 12-35' since we believe that for the next generation to experience drastic and sustainable change, this mass target age group must be affected by education (formal and informal in more relevant and meaningful ways).
