However, our passion is to invest in women from more economically disadvantaged backgrounds. We believe that these women will benefit greatly from our training, which will hopefully be a positive turning point in their lives. Our workshops are informative, practical, interactive and fun!

We are a non-government organization conducting free courses on financial & life-skill for women from the low income group as well as young adults in Sarawak, Malaysia since 2012. To-date we have more than 500 participants attending our courses that includes goal setting, self-confident, effective communication, stress management & financial club. Our courses are interactive & practical that benefited our participants in carry out their daily routine. We hope to reach out to others especially those in the rural areas & the less privileged including single mothers.

Engagée dans le processus de scolarisation des jeunes filles défavorisées, l’association Munyu des Femmes de la Comoé est, jusque là, confrontée à un manque d’ouvrages didactiques au profit des élèves. Afin de lui venir en aide, le Programme des Volontaires des Nations Unies lui a fait un don d’ouvrages didactiques d’auteurs africains. C’est au cours d’une cérémonie le samedi 3 novembre 2012 au siège de l’association à Banfora.
« N’y a-t-il pas de la littérature africaine ?», c’est en ces termes que Marguerite Coulibaly, responsable de la bibliothèque de l’Association Munyu des Femmes de la Comoé, a exprimé les préoccupations des élèves. Désormais, plus de soucis pour les ouvrages didactiques d’auteurs africains dans cette bibliothèque. Le Programme des Volontaires des Nations Unies a achalandé ses rayons le samedi 03 novembre 2012. Au cours d’une cérémonie, le chargé du Programme VNU, Paul Armand MENYE a remis une soixantaine de livres à la bibliothécaire de l’association, madame Coulibaly Marguerite. Engagée dans la formation des femmes et la scolarisation des jeunes filles défavorisées, cette association a créé un centre d’alphabétisation et de formation des femmes et des jeunes filles dans les métiers de couture, de broderie et de la transformation agro-alimentaire. Mais, vu le nombre croissant de jeunes filles non scolarisées ou déscolarisées dans la ville de Banfora, elle a décidé d’ouvrir une classe de 6e, 5e, 4e et 3e afin d’aider ces dernières à avoir accès à l’éducation. Cependant, confie madame Coulibaly, bien que disposant d’une salle de lecture, nos élèves n’ont pas accès à la documentation du fait de l’insuffisance de l’équipement en ouvrages scolaires. Ce qui joue sur les rendements scolaires. Face à cette situation, le Programme des Volontaires des Nations Unies, qui œuvre pour la paix et le développement, a manifesté sa solidarité envers les jeunes filles et les femmes de l’association leur offrant l’opportunité d’avoir accès à une documentation de qualité et d’origine africaine.
Pour Aimé Sawadogo, chargé de communication de l’association Munyu et représentant la Directrice, l’action solidaire des Volontaires des Nations Unies est à apprécier à sa juste valeur: « la bibliothèque est là et les enfants viennent dans l’espoir d’y trouver des livres africains. Mais, ils repartent découragés parce qu’ils n’ont pas été satisfaits. Nous sommes très contents de ce don qui nous permettra de répondre aux besoins pédagogiques des élèves », se réjouit-il.
Ce geste symbolique de solidarité et de volontarisme apporte un grand soulagement aux parents d’élèves qui ne disposent pas de moyens financiers pour acheter des livres pour leurs enfants. C’est pourquoi, le Secrétaire Général du Conseil Régional des Cascades, Alexandre ILBOUDO, a salué l’initiative du Programme VNU tout en invitant les responsables de l’association à une bonne gestion des documents afin que cela profite à tous les élèves du centre en particulier et à ceux de la ville de Banfora en général. Africa is exceptionally beautiful and colourful. The people change your life and inspire you despite the long way the countries have to go. South Africa is unfortunately just the same - Schools are under-equipped, housing is often just a wooden shack with one or two rooms housing 8 people, and sometimes as many as 100 people share a tap.
By joining the Volunteer Initiatives from Edge of Africa earlier this year we could make an impact and contributed to the core needs of different communities and the environment at the Southern tip of the continent. We got involved meaningful and hands-on developmental work in Africa, and learning a lot too, supporting a variety of initiatives: Pre-School Assistance in local preschools, providing and manpower to very under-priviledged schools, assisting the teachers with running fun and educational workshops while making a lasting difference to the early development of local kids. Community Outreach - Uplift underprivileged communities by helping to empower unemployed individuals, teaching uneducated locals and assisting families who have very little with the objective to help them build a chance at a better life... Elephant Reseach & Community Conservation - support of conservation and elephant research projects in Africa.

Academic programme on volunteerism

The IGNOU Institute For Vocational Education & Training with the academic support of the UNV has launched a three month academic programme on Volunteerism. The course has a training model, by which the learners get case studies on Volunteering as a social effort nationally and globally. The examples cited from UNV Annual Reports add to the pragmatism levels of the course, so that the users can study examples and orient them to their immediate situation. Moreover throughout the course material the salient traits of a volunteer or a volunteer to be are apprised, and then there are defining roles of Volunteering. Examples are given, most of them hypothetical, so that the student can envisage situations for the future, and understand volunteering in meaningful contexts. The why, how and what of Volunteerism are clearly enunciated in the course content, together with course description. A framework has also been incorporated into the study material, so that it becomes the trainee's personal diary, and gives him or her, clear cut steps to proceed.

The course is initially meant to be taken to North East India, in the colleges here, and among the NSS cadres of colleges. Several colleges have responded, in Assam, Meghalay and Nagaland, and now there are about a hundred students in Handique Girls' College Guwahati in their vocational cum career guidance centre. At the end of the course the students after having picked up the nuances of volunteering will do a project of at least 1,500 words where they will they will write, based on actual experience, case studies and examples.

The future impact is to take it to the entire country and work continuously on a model of volunteerism, for peace, development and sustainability. The target group is students who have completed at least 10+2, and the NSS units of colleges will be an effective channel to strategize this course. Students should learn about humanism, caring and feeling by doing and acting. Case studies in conflict zones should further boost their morale, to think, act and feel for a suffering or dislocated humanity. Volunteering then will consist of concerns such as poverty, conflict, and areas such as disability, education, vocational education etc.

I'm Lina Ben-Salah, a Tunisian medical student, finishing my third term.
In 2010 I worked with the organizing committee of Festiv’aids (Tunisian association of medical student) ; 3 days of concerts, theatre, painting, dancing to fight AIDS.
Went to Ras Al Jedir Tunisian Libyan borders, Chucha’s camp and worked as a volonteer with UNICEF, WHO and Tunisian military .
In (August/September) 2012 I worked as a volonteer in Augusta Vistoria Hospital, general center of oncology at Jerusalem East.

Universal Movement of Consciousness

Respecting and preserving the nature or combating differences as racism, sexuality or culture and accepting any kind of love, no discriminating anyone in anywhere for anything. I believe it be possible...because love, respect and freedom are all of good. For worldwide children I'm making a team of researchers, public and professional people from various places whose difference we decided to give our contribution to the planet and improve the lives of millions of children whose suffering all sorts of abuse and violence without prospects.
All this through the idea for the proposal to make the world a better place to live without having to create a new doctrine or faction, since the goal is freedom through respect and love for all.

Shahid Kazmi (born April 5th, 1992 in a lush green valley of Shalozan at Parachinar, the most ignorant and backward area of Pakistan namely FATA) has been involved in volunteerism, human rights & youth activism indirectly and directly since the late 2007, working with various local and International Human Rights & Youth Organizations with envision a world where all human rights of all people are equally respected, fully protected and universally realized. Included in this vision is a world where all young people – regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religion, class, gender or other differences are encouraged and empowered to non-violently claim their own rights and serve as advocates for the rights of others. I dedicated to Empowering Youth from around the World to work together cross-culturally not only with each other but also with civil society organizations and policy makers to advance the use of the human rights framework as a tool for social change and to ensure that all human rights are fulfilled for all people. Moreover I have represented FATA/KPK in all forums across the Pakistan and raised the issues/problems of youth and voice for my troubled community and needy people suffered from so called war against terrorism, militancy and extremism. My area of interest are Human Rights, Volunteerism, Social Works, Social Justice, Gender Equality, Youth Empowerment, Child Lab our, Child Beggars, Charity Work, Female Education.
